Northern Alaska Packrafts provides quality, lightweight watercraft to promote the exploration and enjoyment of the vast wilderness found in Interior and Arctic Alaska, and beyond...
Northern Alaska Packrafts is a locally owned and operated business based in Fairbanks. Ed Plumb opened the shop in May 2010 to provide Alaska residents and visitors the opportunity to explore the Last Frontier with a packraft. Ed is a meteorologist and hydrologist with the National Weather Service in Fairbanks and has been working in and on rivers around northern Alaska for over 20 years. He is also an avid packrafter and wants to share and promote his passion for exploring Alaska's wild places with a packraft.
In 2016, NAP was purchased by Nick Janssen. Nick is a local engineering graduate student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and an avid outdoor enthusiast. Through partnership with Ascension Rock Club, the NAP packraft rental business continues to provide packraft rental to the interior community today.
